About Us

In 2023, Founder and President of Deviant, Emma reached out to TikTok with an idea of a car club. One that does not discriminate based on who you love, what you look like or what you drive. People started coming together to form a car club around this idea and the creation of Deviant began. It started small, a group chat, then a discord server. From there we have expanded rapidly and steadily towards our goals.

Since its founding, Deviant has made efforts in motorsports, in person and online events, pride efforts, and more. This includes endurance racing, drifting, autocross, rallycross, and more. There have been hundreds of car meets in more than twenty states, and participation in events all across the country alongside partner clubs.
In 2025 Deviant became a 501(c)(3) through Gender Freedom Society to better serve our members and provide further resources to the club. This includes sponsorships, scholarships, and recognized volunteer hours, as well as a handful of resources for our volunteers we wouldn’t be able to offer otherwise. Deviant is fully volunteer run, with an overarching staff and regional hosts, who help make the community system work.

Founded in 2017 as a Facebook group “Trans, Non-binary and Genderqueer Network” by Jennifer Anderson and Kali Vogel, we branched into establishing a nonprofit “Gender Freedom Society” in 2021 to better serve the community. We are a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based virtually in the United States. Everyday our team of global volunteers comes together in an effort to make this world a better place for the Trans/GNC community. Gender Freedom Society has since grown and includes a car club, Deviant.
